Underlayment taped and ready for possible rain tonight.

The panels aren't on yet so I thought I'd put up another layer of the Titanium underlayment. The first layer was up for six months and I had a lot extra anyway. I'll tape the seams and edges tomorrow. Some neighbors' flowers too...

Good news, my 4 panels are here so hopefully work will resume soon. Also, I slept in the house the other night. The windy conditions caused the plastic to flap loudly which made for a long night. It won't be too long before I can rip that stuff down for good, cut out the window openings, put up the house wrap, and install the windows and siding. It'll start looking more like a house than a shed. That's the plan anyway!

I went ahead and sealed up the metal trim pieces since we have to wait on the panels. For some reason it won't let me load the pics. I'll try again tonight after work.

Greetings! We have a little progress to report on the roof. Thanks go out to my friends Jim and Tom of J & M Contracting. Cedar trim and edge panels are in place. One side of the roof was square and the other slightly out (I knew that) so time had to be spent fixing rookie mistakes. Speaking of mistakes eh-hem I need to order four more metal panels so each end piece can be the same width. Well, the roof waited all winter so what's a little longer? The pics...

Hello guys I'm still here even though I haven't posted. The metal roof is still not up but I'm going to address some issues you might want to think about if you are planning on doing it yourself.

When you are ready to place your order go to the manufacturer's web site. Here you can find the instructions for installation. Read this carefully as it will tell you what pieces you need to order. There are various drip edges, some take cleats and some don't. There are various ridge caps, they need some type of cleat. There are also specialized tools like hemming and crimping tools. You will want to use fasteners recommended by the manufacturer. You'll also need to order butyl tape and a urethane sealant.

My roof will have no openings. If you do you'll need to get the appropriate pieces for vent pipes and skylights. There are also various how-to videos on youtube that are helpful.

With that said my roof is still waiting for some decent weather that matches up with some days off. This may be a project that's better off done by experienced people and there is a chance that may happen yet. At least I have all my pieces!
