Hiatus
Yesterday and today I've been sick as a dog so I couldn't work on the house at all. Hopefully whatever I have will go away soon. The next pic I have up will be the hitch end siding complete and or the roof completed because it's on the schedule this week. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Siding
The siding is going slow but steady. Cedar or more typical sidings would be quicker to put up, especially for a novice like me. Let me tell you this is really kickin' my butt. If your patience is thin I wouldn't recommend going this route. Hopefully the end result will be worth the time and effort.

My Gibbon Hammock
Since my siding is a time consuming process, I decided to speed things up and ordered a tool to help cut the cement board quickly without creating dust. PacTool International SS204 Fiber Cement Siding Shear. It's due here tomorrow.
It was raining this morning so I decided to go inside and have a little fun! Here's what I put in...
I'm off this weekend so I hope to get as much siding on as possible...

Siding
Got a start on the siding until the rain hit.
This is the starter plank. I'm using stainless screws and washers although Hardy calls for ring shank nails.
On the butts I'm using the Titanium roofing paper as flashing...
I had to adjust screw placement on this first row due to the board underneath. The rows above I'll be able to use the designated area...

The last of the trim is up (except for the doorway and adjacent window) which means tomorrow I can start the siding!

First coat of paint on yesterday's cut trim. After the second coat I can put that up and all that will be left is the trim around the door and window next to it. I'll have to wait for the door jam to be placed before that happens so in the mean time I can actually get started on the siding.
Here's some pics on the inside by request...
I have the layout planned but the materials for the inside aren't yet decided... feel free to offer suggestions.
